AN APPLE A DAY

Dear Auntie Patti Koh,

This is a picture of one of my three apple trees that I have planted. This one is at the front lawn of the house and the three others are at the back yard of my house. This is the season that I am not expecting any flowers from my apple trees because last year it was not so good and the weather recently is npt that good. I was expecting that my apple trees will not be bloomin this year.

I am tired already of fertilizing then prunning the branches of the apple trees, not to mention the fruits that fall on the ground and then the flies during summer time will mill around the rotten fruits on the ground which then I am compelled to clean and bagged it for the garbage. The fruits are sweet and good. When my two boys are still young, they love the apples. But now they are on their own and its only me and my wife and the dog at the house, I have lost interest in the apples and the caring of the trees.

My wife is asking me to take care of it and start fertilizing it and spray the flowers so that the insects will not bite of the fruits. But I was telling my wife that the sprays and fertilizer is not good for my dog who always play around the house and at the back yard.

And so Auntie Patti Koh, come September, if these apple trees of mine will bear lots of fruits, I will have a back problem cleaning the fruits that will fall on the ground. I wish I could send all the fruits to the Philippines so that they could have a ball with it. These are Washington Green and Red delicious apples. The bloom is so nice and it smelly too.

Can you come and help me gather the fruits this year??
